Production Blog - Starting to Film


Hi blog. Today we started filming. We wanted to mostly focus on a set of scenes. The scenes were leading up to the crash. There were quite a lot of these. We bean in the office. As set before, this was inside Nico's house. He has a nice office and lots of supplies. The supplies could be used as props for the film. We also had all necessary safety being within his home. When we started filming, we had an issue though. The lighting inside the office wasn't the right brightness for what we wanted. It was a little too cool and bright, while we needed a bit of a darker mood. We ended up with an idea. We decided to use a phone camera instead to create the illusion of a moodier room. This helped with the atmosphere significantly. After this we wanted to do some of the driving scenes. The car we need was Nico's and Ben's for each character. We used these as they fit the characters personalities more closely in our story. We had all the safety on hand and Nico's parents there incase something went wrong. We started filming and luckily nothing ended up going wrong. We filmed a couple smaller scenes after that with our remaining time and got enough filming done to feel satisfied in the end. We ended off the day and went home after cleaning up. Tomorrow will continue with filming. We are now even closer to the finished product.

  I started looking for a group by asking people in my class. When I ask, said they mostly already had a group or knew who they were going to do it with. I then had to move to friends in other classes. I sent a message in our group chat, but most of them already had a group or weren't in the class. I found two people willing to let me into their group. Those three friends were Benjamin Adelson, Nicolas Williams, and Blake Dash. They were already in a group together. Eventually I was able to convince them to let me join as well. They were also both people I knew very well and knew we would make a great group. Our parent had already met multiple times so it would be easy to arrange a day we could meet up for the project. Production Blog

 Today I started off with the production of the video itself. I began by gathering the songs I was going to use. I had to download them but I didn't know how. I had to search up how to do it first. I found a website which could turn YouTube videos into mp3 files. I then used it to download the two main songs I would use. I saved them to my computer. I then opened CapCut and tried to insert them. It didn't work the first couple of times though. I had to search up a tutorial for CapCut. I was then able to figure it out. I inserted the music. I then went along to downloading the images which I would be using. I had to download them to computer through messages which gave me a bit of trouble. I was able to figure it out eventually and saved them to my computer. I then did the same with the videos. I had to wait a while as the files were relatively large. Planning For My Music Video

We started by trying to decide on our song for our music video. We wanted something strong and with meaning. We also felt it should be able to be molded into something we were proud of. we looked around for a while and decided on the song. We chose Umbrella by Beyoncé. We felt it would be a good match for us and our vision. For the video we only need a couple of simple props. We are going to use an umbrella and a hose. We will use the umbrella to shield us from the water we are using from the hose to simulate rain. For costumes we will be wearing casual clothing which we feel is not too important to get wet. We will try to do it when it is raining or cloudy. If we can't do that, then we will do it later in the day when the sun is not as high up so that it fits the environment for the video we have for the video.
