Production Blog - Choosing the Main Music

Image
We have done most of the editing but we had a big problem. We hadn't yet chosen the music we would overlay on most of our video. We though we had already found one but we had a big issue with that one. We could not get the licensing for it. We needed to choose another song to finish the editing process. We began scouring the internet for a song that hit a couple criteria. Firstly we needed it to fit the overall feeling of our film. We also needed for it to be copyright free. We looked for a while together but came up with nothing. Eventually we split up to look more efficiently. After another while of looking I had found something. A YouTube channel by the name of Cold Cinema. they uploaded tons of uncopyrighted music. I looked through their music for a while but it was still hard to find something that fit our theme. I finally found one that fit though. It is called Bergen and fits really well with our video. I showed the song to the rest of our group. They agreed that it fit well

Production Blog - Continuing to Edit

Image
Today we gathered to continue editing. Blake had sorted the clips already. Despite tech issues, we persisted. We found a workaround. As we searched the software, we discovered new features. Each team member contributed something. Creative decisions were debated a lot. The narrative gradually took shape. We grew more confident with each edit. We persevered. Despite frustration, we pressed on. Progress was significant by the end of the day. Renewed, we committed to seeing it through. The anticipation lingered. Each day brought us closer to our goal. Our dedication to the film remained. The process continued with each member contributing ideas. We faced challenges, but our teamwork prevailed. Adjustments were made based on collective intuition. A sense of prime of our work so far fueled our enthusiasm. Leaving today, we were one step closer to realizing our vision. Anticipation grew for the finished product, knowing that our shared effort would soon be finished. With a commitment to doing

Production blog - Starting to Edit

Today we wanted to start with the editing. We have already recorded all the scenes but we needed the clips. Most of them were on Nico's phone. We had transfer them but we were having some issues. We had no way to transfer them. We tried many ways but were having no luck. We eventually tried Google to transfer. We had to fiddle with it a bit but it finally worked. We were able to transfer it to everyone in our group. The only one who really needed it was Blake though. Since the beginning we agreed that Blake would do most of the process. The others, me included, would just help out. The way we decided to help was by calling and giving advice on the editing process. We first helped Blake with downloading it. Nicolas had to send it to him then tell him where to find it. It was a bit confusing but we got to it. We then put them all into CapCut. We decided on CapCut since it was not difficult and Blake knew it best. We decided that was enough for one day at least. We want to try to fini

Production Blog - Forgotten Scenes

Image
Last blog I believed we had finished the filming. We went through everything and realized we had a big problem. We didn't do the car scenes. We decided that we had to go back. We first though a bout not doing them and just doing something with what we had filmed. We eventually decided though that we couldn't just not do them because they were a crucial part of the video. We first went back to Ben's house for the last time. We did the same thing we did for all the other times and used Uber. Once we got there we had to decide on what car to use. We took a while debating, but we finally chose the right one. We decided on Ben's Moms van. We thought it was the perfect look for the scene. it also would make it easiest for the person needing to be in the trunk. We filmed all our car scenes. It wasn't too long as we already had it all planned out. We did have a bit of a problem along the way though. His mom wasn't home so we couldn't ask for permission right away. W

Production Blog - Second Day of Recording

Image
Today we began with our second day recording. I had to go in Uber again today. I went to Nico's house first. We then went to Ben's together. We got there a bit late. Me and Nico got lost on the way. Blake had already been there for a while. Him and Ben were just waiting. We wanted to record inside today. We had a couple issues but they weren't too serious. We recorded most of the inside senses but we needed a break. We ate a couple snacks. We played some games too. After all that we went back to recording. We finished up after awhile. It was about 4 hours but we got it done. Me and Nico took another Uber back. We dropped him off first. We then got another Uber to bring me back. It took a while but we finished filming. It was a lot of fun and we enjoyed it a lot. We are planning to edit next.

Production Blog - First Day Recording

Today we started recording. I prepped everything I needed and all the props we needed. I knew I had to get to Ben's house to record. I booked an Uber to get there. It was quite expensive but I already determined I had no other way to get there. I first took and Uber to Nico's house to meet up there. I then went with him in another Uber to Ben's. Once we got there we had to wait for Ben to let us in. We had to wait another 15 minutes for our last member Blake to get there. He also had to go in Uber so it took a while. Once we were all there we got a couple snacks and all our things prepped first. We then began recording. We started with all the outdoor scenes. We wanted to do them first as the weather was not looking great. Especially for the next day we planned to record. We got through it eventually, but it took a while. We had some issues with forgetting some props. We had to rush over to the nearest plaza to get some materials. Once we got back we finished up. We though

Production Blog - Getting Ready to Film

Image
Today we began with figuring out when we would film our video. We wanted to do it very soon but had some problems. We checked for a variety of problems that could occur and there were a few big ones. One problem was how to get to the location. We have already established we would do it at Ben's house, but many of us had a big issue. The fact was that we I have a ride. I asked my parent but they had plans. I asked a friend but they wouldn't be able too until too late. Finally I landed on a solution. I was going to Uber to his house. Although it would be a bit expensive, I had to do it to film. Once I got past that issue there was another problem that could happen. The weather. We needed the weather to be nice as some scenes would be outside and we did not want to get wet after multiple takes. We weren't sure how the weather was going to look like. Ben looked at the weather app and determined it would most likely be fine to film. Even though there wasn't a big chance of r

Production Blog - Starting On The Video

Its been a while since the last time I made a blog. I am finally writing one because we began our adventure of making our video. We have done many cool things already. I made better friends in this class. I put my all into my other project. I made a music video with my friends other the course of a while. And now with this new video we will only improve our strategies. We have have learned many new ways to make videos. As we set out on our video project, excitement the air. Not only excitement, but also a bit of nerves. Ben and I were a bit reserved when starting. While we were a bit scared, Nicolas and Blake seemed brimming with confidence. We haven't done much yet, but we are all revving to go. Nicolas and Ben shared some awesome ideas. Blake brought up his experience in editing. I will be one of the main actors for our film. We are all eager to dive in, but we haven't taken any significant steps forward. Despite the lack of progress, we were already bonding over our shared g
