Production Blog - Locations
This blog is about our shooting locations. Initially, we thought it would be rather nice to vary locations. It is apparent that we need a quiet place that is either isolated or private to film in. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be an easy task. To narrow down our search, we think of spots in our area. The suggestions came pouring in, but somehow, none of them seemed fitting. My dad's office can do for the office scene, but then again, the trip might be just too much of a hassle for such a short scene. For car scenes, any quiet street off a main road will do, so just about any neighborhood should be fine. Nathaly mentioned some places, but I felt it would be a real stretch of the imagination to fit into the ideas of the film. Nicolas's backyard would be perfect for the party scene; it is spacious and perfect for parties. It’s also conveniently located, which makes it a practical choice for everyone involved. Timing is a factor for all of us, so it is time that matters. If timing does become short, we might go back to Nicolas's house to shoot, since he has everything needed for all scenes. Ideally, we should prefer multiple locations, but then again, the time available will not be known until the shooting day itself. To make sure our vision matches at all, we will be doing our shooting in the evening or at night. It could be. A difficulty such as visibility might come into play in filming at night, hence a must is a particularly well-lit area with ample street flying lights. In order to make it easy for filming day, Nicolas is going to do his best to find a place in his neighborhood that is lit nicely at night. This way, we can avoid last minute stress and make sure everything runs smoothly. Let's hope we can shoot at the various locations, but we'll just have to see. Flexibility will be key, as unexpected challenges often arise during filming. Regardless, we’re excited to bring our film to life, no matter where we end up shooting in the end.
