Production Blog - Editing

Hello blog, it's Tom here. We have finally finished shooting! In fact, we've shot several makeup scenes already. Everything is starting to fit together very nicely.  Today has been filled with editing, which was quite long and tiring. First of all, we had to transfer all the footage to an editing program. We will be using Adobe since Nico's mom has it for her work. Luckily enough, it has already been paid for before. Usually, it is pretty expensive, and it is nice that we can use it without having to pay for it. Once we managed to insert all the footage in, we just began to put the clips in order and cut the unnecessary little bits. Then, we had to write a text, simply the title, which took a while longer than expected. Some transitions were particularly difficult to get smooth. We had to adjust them over and over. We tried a couple of effects that we thought would highlight certain scenes. The work was tiring, but seeing the film come together made it all worthwhile. I really gained a new appreciation for just how much work goes into editing. From what we have learned from the last project, the more we shoot, the easier it will be for editing. Not having enough footage could have made life a nightmare for the editing Nevertheless, while this is a bigger project, the editing was not as painstaking as it had been last time. Some clips still seem to be in a bit of a rough shape and need some polishing. Unfortunately, we don't have time for that today. We'll just have to hope that the next blog we will be able to complete the rest of our editing. Thanks for reading and we all hope it turn out well after next blog.
